Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are one of the most versatile cosmetic dental procedures Dr. Mohandes performs for her patients. If you are not satisfied with the look of your teeth for any of the following reasons, veneers can improve the appearance of your smile:
- Chips or cracks
- Small gaps
- Discoloration/stains
- Mild to moderate misalignment
- Worn teeth (due to grinding or clenching)
- Pitted teeth
- Misshapen teeth
The beauty of porcelain veneers is that they can correct several of these aesthetic issues at once. Many Hollywood stars and Influencers have gorgeous smiles because they have porcelain veneers!
What Are Veneers?
Veneers, thin shells typically made of porcelain or another durable material, are placed over the front surface of natural teeth to conceal flaws and enhance their appearance. Dr. Mohandes opts for porcelain veneers due to their remarkably realistic appearance and high resistance to staining, ensuring your smile looks and feels natural.

What Is Involved in Getting Porcelain Veneers?
There are several steps required in getting veneers to ensure you get the aesthetic results you desire:
- An initial consultation with Dr. Mohandes to discuss your aesthetic goals and how many veneers you want. At this appointment, Dr. Mohandes will create your customized treatment plan.
- Your teeth enamel will be prepared to accept the veneers. Dr. Mohandes will lightly reshape them and remove a thin layer of the enamel from the front in preparation for bonding.
- Impressions or scans of your teeth are taken to create the porcelain veneers.
- Our dental lab will create your custom veneers based on the impressions or scans of your teeth. This process involves skilled technicians who carefully craft each veneer to match the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth. Once the veneers are ready, they will be sent to Dr. Mohandes for the final step.
- When you return to our office, Dr. Mohandes will permanently bond your customized porcelain veneers to the front of your teeth, ensuring a perfect fit and naturally beautiful smile!
Porcelain Veneers FAQs
How durable are porcelain veneers?
With proper care, your veneers should last 10-20 years. Be sure to brush and floss every day, and do NOT use your veneers as tools to open packages. Avoid chewing on hard objects like ice or pens.
What makes porcelain veneers so natural-looking?
Porcelain veneers have the same translucent quality as natural teeth and can be made to match the exact color and shade of your teeth. No other material has both of these features, making porcelain the ideal material for natural-looking veneers.
What do I do if a veneer falls off?
If a veneer is loose or falls off, contact our office immediately. Because the enamel on the front of the tooth is thinner, restoring or replacing the veneer on the tooth as soon as possible is essential.
Does dental insurance cover the cost of porcelain veneers?
No. Veneers are considered a cosmetic dental procedure that is not covered by insurance. However, FM Dentistry accepts most major credit cards and offers outside financing with low or no interest to qualifying patients.
